The school calendar for the year 2023/2024 will once again disadvantage a geographical area. A, B or C, the pupils of this zone and their parents are, this year, losers.

Each year families await the publication of the school calendar with attention. It defines the exact dates of the holidays of All Saints, Christmas, winter, spring, and summer, but also, the various bridges possibly decided by the national education according to the holidays. Information that is necessary to organize your holidays in advance, plan short stays around bridges with as few days off as possible. This year the school calendar 2022/2023 had already caused a lot of debate and generated anger on the part of the families of Zone C. Indeed, this one had inherited the longest class phases before the holidays, and fewer bridges that fell during the holidays. Next year, a different area will in turn be “disadvantaged” compared to others.

Indeed, looking at the 2024 school calendar, we realize that zone B loses. In question, the dates of spring break. For zone B, they take place from April 20 to May 6, 2024. Which means that the Wednesday, May 1 falls right in the middle of the holidays of this area. Zones A and C, on the other hand, will be able to benefit from this holiday and therefore from a welcome breather. Spring holidays fall in effect from April 13 to April 29 for zone A and from April 6 to April 22 for zone C.

An unbalanced 2024 school calendar

This year Back to school takes place on Monday, September 4. The students will all have to take 7 weeks of lessons before the All Saints holidays. Same thing between All Saints’ Day and Christmas, all students must be present for 7 weeks at school before the holiday season. Then, on the other hand, students in zone C will only have 5 weeks to wait before the February holidays. 6 weeks for students in zone A, and 7 weeks for those in zone B which is also disadvantaged in this respect compared to other geographical areas. As a reminder, zone B includes the academies of Marseille, Nice, Lille, Nantes, Strasbourg, or even Rouen and Rennes.
