Although several new dual-screen laptops have emerged this year, the GPD Duo seems to be the most practical. The company has stacked the two 13.3-inch OLED screens in such a way that you get an additional screen at the top. Unlike Asus’ Zenbook Duo, this upcoming model has no detachable keyboard or stand, allowing the secondary screen to fold behind the main screen into the shape of a traditional laptop.

The GPD Duo screens will measure 18 inches when unfolded

The second screen of the GPD Duo can also fold into a tablet with stylus holder. GPD clarified that when the device is folded, it has the size of an A4 sheet and, when both screens are fully deployed, it measures 18 inches. Its ports remain partially mysterious, but it appears to include an Ethernet port and an OcuLink port for eGPU connectivity. We also see two USB ports and a card reader. These features are intended to make this device as functional as possible.

The GPD Duo is equipped witha large keyboard and a touchpad standard, which sets it apart from some models that require external keyboards. On the other hand, the precise specifications of the processor remain unclear. GPD mentions a TDP of 35 watts which indicates the maximum thermal power that the system must be able to dissipate. It should therefore not generate too much heat, which can contribute to better energy efficiency and easier thermal management. However, performance also depends on the type of processor and its architecture. Finally, as is the trend, it will have advanced artificial intelligence capabilitiesbut without confirmation on the exact components.
