this Bioshock 4-like wows us on PS5!

Judas, the new game from the creator of the Bioshock franchise, returns with a new trailer presented during the first State of Play of the year.

Since the closure of his Irrational Games studio in 2014, Ken Levine has been working on a new project that remained mysterious for a long time given its development, which would have been very complicated. The first production from the illustrious director of Bioshock and System Shock since the creation of Ghost Story Games was announced with great fanfare during the Game Awards 2022. Its name, Judas. A solo-oriented title with striking similarities to the creator’s latest games, but which quickly disappeared from the radar. It resurfaced on the night of Wednesday January 31, 2024 during the State of Play.

New trailer for Judas

8 years. That’s how long it took Ken Levine and the rest of his team to reveal his first game since the release of Bioshock Infinite in 2013. It took two more for Judas to return to the spotlight . If its presence had not been revealed in advance in the list that had been circulating for a few days, we would have almost believed in Bioshock 4. Between ambient chaos, propaganda, dystopia, powers based on plasmids and tonics, decadent society, Judas seemed to take up all the codes of the iconic franchise. An impression once again confirmed with the new trailer for the game revealed during State of Play.

A trailer which therefore gives pride of place to the context of the game and especially to the gameplay by revealing some phases of combat against robots. The Bioshock vibe is still present, but Judas will clearly have its own stamp. The game will visibly focus on player choices with a tailor-made experience in which these decisions and the evolution of the story depend only on you. “VYou’ll also meet a host of new characters and be able to influence their lives in ways never before seen in our games “, explains Ken Levine.

As a reminder, the game takes place in Mayflower, a space city where the inhabitants have been trained to spy on each other and to denounce each other at the first offense. All their lives, their emotions seem to be controlled by its leaders, when machines have their hands in every aspect of commerce, art and government. How to free yourself from it? This is ultimately a question that Judas will attempt to answer, by taking the reins of a revolution marked by destruction. Still no release date yet, not even a small window.
