We already knew about its Boom, Wonderboom, Megaboom and Hyperboom connected speakers. We will now have to do with the new Epicboom range from Ultimate Ears. The American manufacturer, acquired in 2008 by Logitech, indeed presented, this Wednesday, its new large-format Bluetooth speaker, the UE Epicboom.

Concretely, this speaker is positioned in the range between the Megaboom and the Hyperboom. We are therefore entitled to a Bluetooth speaker in a beefier format, with a size of 16.2 x 11.9 x 24.1 cm and a weight of 1.98 kg on the scale.

In terms of acoustic architecture, Ultimate Ears has not done things halfway and takes advantage of this large format to offer an omnidirectional speaker. Thus, the UE Epicboom is equipped with two 45 mm diameter broadband speakers for the mids and highs, while the bass is managed by a dedicated 120 mm diameter box. Enough to allow, according to the manufacturer, to go up to a noise level of 95 dB outdoors. Still on the sound level, Ultimate ears offers a customizable equalizer in its application, in addition to the suggested presets. The UE Epicboom can also pair with other speakers to enjoy stereo sound via the manufacturer’s Party Up feature.

A speaker that can be used at the pool

The enclosure also stands out for its IP67 sealing and its design that makes it float. It can thus be used without risk in the shower, at the beach, at the swimming pool… or even in a swimming pool.

On the autonomy side, Ultimate Ears communicates on 17 hours of continuous use, while charging will take just over 2 hours and 30 minutes. The speaker also benefits from an NFC tag to pair it quickly.

The Ultimate Ears Epicbooom will be available at retailers from September 22, at a price of 379.99 euros. It is available in white or black.
