What is this curved screen from Dell?
The Alienware 34 QD-OLED monitor is a 34-inch curved screen, with a diagonal of 86 cm. The screen is rather elegant and fits very well on a desk, but be careful with its rather imposing base. Its dimensions with the base are 525.57 × 415.57 × 815.25 × 305.71 mm deep, for a weight of 9.65 kg. The whole thing is therefore imposing and requires a significant amount of space.
The OLED panel has a curvature of 1800R and an aspect ratio of 21:9. The UWQHD definition of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels is accompanied by a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The brightness is excellent and almost infinite contrast. It is of course preferable to play in a dimly lit room to fully enjoy it, and to activate the “HDR Peak 1000” mode which increases the brightness. The image is of high quality and has a very good level of detail and rich colors.
Is this monitor from Dell worth it at this price?
This is a very good deal for a screen ideal for gaming. The 165 Hz and 0.1 ms response time ensure smooth movements. The AMD FreeSync Pro function is also responsible for preventing stuttering or image tearing effects. Players who play mainly in the evening will be able to count on Comfort View Plus technology to limit the emission of blue light, without distorting the colorimetry.
Note that for greater comfort, the screen can be rotated up to 20 degrees to the right and left, can tilt from -5 to +20 degrees, and can be adjusted in height by 11 cm. Finally, the Alienware 34 includes an HDMI 2.0 port, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, four USB ports, an audio output port as well as a headphone port.
