Final Fantasy is a strong license. Between the recent release of the sixteenth opus and the arrival in 2024 of the second part of FF7, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, fans of the series have plenty of fun. It was without counting on the next mobile game, which continues to impress.
While news of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is awaited at the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix is set to launch its mobile game, FF7 Ever Crisis. The date has been set for September 7 on iOS and Android and, to act as a countdown, the publisher offers us a final trailer before the big day.
Sephiroth like we’ve never seen him before
This new trailer reminds us that FF7 Ever Crisis will be a chapter game that will allow you to relive the events of all the games that make up the Final Fantasy VII saga. We will even find the protagonists of the fallen mobile game following an operation of the SOLDIER with Glenn Lodbrok, Matt Winsord and Lucia Lin. More than retracing the history of the license, this new free mobile game will tell a whole new chapter dedicated to Sephiroth and his youth. The trailer therefore highlights the extremely young emblematic antagonist appearing on the battlefield under a shower of white feathers, drawing his sword.
Square Enix dazzles with this character that ultimately we know very little. This ignorance of the antagonist and his past is even more underlined by the passage at the end of the trailer where we see him worried for his companions. A woman’s voice then asks him which lives are important to him. An empathy that we did not know him, Sephiroth being rather known in FF7 for his insatiable thirst for power.
New adventures in FF7 Ever Crisis
Although the game will therefore resume the main events of the saga, FF7 Ever Crisis will offer new characters as well as a new vision on the iconic heroes and antagonists of the series. Something to please fans of this universe that continues to grow over time. It will also allow the most impatient to find Cloud and his friends while FF7 Rebirth is scheduled for 2024.
