“Blue & Company”, worn by Ryan Reynolds, reveals its VF vocal cast! Paramount Pictures has announced a stunning pairing for two of the film’s main characters. Animated characters facing real actors, “Roger Rabbit” style.
Expected in theaters on May 8, 2024, Blue & Compagnie unveils a top-notch vocal casting with José Garcia and Mylène Farmer! The first lends his voice to Blue, an enormous stuffed toy, an imaginary friend of children. As for the second, she vocally plays Blossom, an extraordinary dancer always ready to serve you a cup of tea.
An astonishing duo
Before Blue, José Garcia had already given voice in several animated films such as Encanto, in which he doubles Bruno. He is also behind the stamp of Alex the lion in the Madagascar franchise. He also lent his voice to Mushu in Mulan, the Disney classic, as well as Tulio in The Road to El Dorado.
For Mylène Farmer, this is her second experience at synchro after Arthur and the Minimoys by Luc Besson. She doubled there for Princess Sélénia. On Blue & Company, the singer and actress rediscovers a theme dear to her heart, that of imaginary friends.
Indeed, 20 years ago, Mylène Farmer wrote an offbeat tale on the same theme: Lisa-Loup and the storyteller or the story of a little girl and her imaginary friend.
For his part, Ryan Reynolds is voiced by the immense Pierre Tessier, recently acclaimed for his interpretation of Nintendo’s mustachioed plumber in Super Mario Bros.
Written and directed by John Krasinski (Quietly), Blue & Company tells the story of a young girl named Bee (Cailey Fleming). The latter discovers one day that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends. Then begins a magical adventure to reconnect each child with their forgotten imaginary friend.
On the VO casting side, it’s Steve Carell who voices Blue and Phoebe Waller-Bridge who lends her voice to Blossom. Blue & Company hits theaters on May 8.
