In the family of incredible machines designed in Legos, here comes today a motorized ring that should satisfy those who like to see dominoes fall again and again.

As often, the design is also very well documented!

A simple yet elegant construction

Hard to say who, content creators on Minecraft or with Legos, are the craziest and most talented. Anyway, after The Legend of Zelda on Minecraftplace today to a creation in Legos based on dominoes.

A few weeks ago, a certain Grant Davis created a machine capable of knocking down and then picking up 120,000 dominoes a day. Never mind, Jason Allemann of JK Brickworks has decided to smash this record. His machine, visible in the video above, can do the same thing, but at the rate of 1,500 dominoes per minute, or 2 million in 24 hours.

One Ring to knock them all down

For this, 64 dominoes are distributed in a circle on hinges. Inside this circle, a train rotates opposite the falling dominoes to activate levers and raise those already fallen. In order for the train not to catch up with the falling dominoes, a sensor and a Mindstorms EV3 unit are there so that the speed of the train adapts to that of the dominoes.

All this and more is explained in detail in the video. Other machines of this ilk can also be seen on the JK Brickworks channel. And if you want a little more, a few months ago it was an impressive Lego drum machine that caught our attention.
