On Saturday December 9, King Charles III and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles published on social networks their Christmas and greeting card for the news year 2024 future. The couple who caused a sensation during their visit to France in September opted for a photo taken by Hugo Burnand on the occasion of the coronation organized on May 6. The son of Elizabeth II can be seen standing in the Buckingham Palace throne room, wearing the Imperial Crown of States and the scepter at the cross. It is in a way the way for him to remember that he is celebrating the first Christmas of his reign.
At the same time, his son the prince William and his wife Kate Middleton also revealed their Christmas card. The chosen photo contrasts with that selected by Charles III and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Although the comments are mostly positive on Instagram, where Kate Middleton posted it last week, some Internet users accuse the couple of copying Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who had published black and white Christmas cards in 2022 and the previous year. Still others focus all attention on one special detail…and which concerns Princess Charlotte and her big brother Louis.
Indeed, by observing the feet of the two children we see thattheir shoes are missing laces black and white. It is easier to establish the observation for Charlotte, in the foreground, while Louis is behind her and his feet are set back. This error does not, however, call into question this desire for normality displayed by Prince William and Kate Middleton through this Christmas card. It remains to be seen whether the two children will have their shoelaces tied during their next public appearance during the end-of-year celebrations. The family are expected to attend the Windsors’ annual walk to church on the Sandringham estate on December 25.
