An 18-year-old high school student stabbed himself this Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in his establishment in Toulouse. Victim of school bullying, he would have committed this gesture to draw attention to his sad situation.
A new case of school bullying has turned into a tragedy in Toulouse. As revealed The Parisian, a teenager stabbed himself in his high school in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) this Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The 18-year-old young man, who says he is a victim of school bullying, could no longer stand being the target of his classmates.
To denounce this harassment, he then “stabbed himself in the stomach”. Transported to hospital, the young man was fortunately released the same day, his injuries having been “non-life threatening”. However, he benefits from 10 days of temporary work interruption (ITT). Still according to Le Parisienthe young man would have denounced his harassment in a writing written before his act, saying he was not heard by the authorities.
School harassment: the victim had filed two complaints which were dismissed
Indeed, the victim would have filed a complaint at the police station in October and December for the same facts, targeting the same behaviors and the same people. It would seem, according to the investigation carried out by the police, that his girlfriend’s group of friends did not appreciate that the latter moved away from them to spend time with the victim. “This fusion group of Terminale accuses him of isolating this fragile young woman, who cut contact with them” can we read, according to the words of the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office.
Very quickly, reproaches and rumors circulated within the establishment until messages were sent to the young man, known for his fragility. A source close to the matter assures, however, that these messages are few in number and present “nothing rude or insulting”. Not enough to qualify this as school harassment.
Despite the two complaints filed (both dismissed, Editor’s note), neither the young man’s mother nor his girlfriend were aware of this alleged harassment. An investigation was entrusted to the police to determine the circumstances of his act.
