An RPG particularly awaited by fans of the genre will only be released on Xbox and PC, bad news for PS5 players who are fans of role-playing games.
The hearing between Microsoft and the FTC continues to heat up in federal court in California. Many major information emerge from this opposition between the Federal Trade Commission, the competition regulatory authority which wants to block the takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, and the Redmond firm. During the hearing, the American organization drew a private email from Matt Booty, director of Xbox Games Studios, in which he clearly stated his desire to push Sony into bankruptcy. But this trial is also an opportunity to learn more about some games in development, such as The Elder Scrolls 6. Thanks to a document, we now learn that another highly anticipated RPG will indeed be an Xbox Series exclusive.
Project Dragon will be an Xbox exclusive
The FTC also had up its sleeve an analysis done by Xbox of the benefits and risks of taking over different studios, on a case-by-case basis. This document includes a study by the IO Interactive studio, developer of the last three episodes of the license Hitman. We then discover that the next title from the Danish studio, which would now bear the code name Project Dragonwill be an Xbox exclusive.
Rumors already indicated that the game could skip Sony consoles when it was announced last March, but it is now official with the presentation of this document by the FTC, which is ahead of the main concerned with the presentation of this document. Until then, IO Interactive used the name of Project Fantasy to designate the project, but this change of title makes it possible to see a little more clearly in the ambitions of the RPG planned for Xbox Series and PC.
An RPG to seduce Game of Thrones fans?
Will dragons be central to the game Project Dragon developed by IO Interactive, as in another expected RPG, namely Crimson Desert ? Note that the game is also referred to as a shooter, which necessarily evokes free-to-play Century: Age of Ashes. In any case, there is no doubt that fans of Game Of Thrones will take a closer look at the project from now on.
