VS’is the story of a great misunderstanding. On the one hand, there are the economists who have been arguing – for years – in favor of a major reform of the inheritance tax. And on the other, the French who do not want to hear about it, as they have the impression that this would be an opportunity for the State to put – even more than today – the hand on the fruit of a life of work for their children.
In a new note previously presented, as is customary, to the executive, the Economic Analysis Council (CAE), an organization attached to the Prime Minister but independent, tries to demonstrate that the vast reform of the taxation of the inheritance it offers can save a “vast majority of the population” while dramatically improving equality of opportunity.
