When you think of fashion trends, exciting, eye-catching pieces probably come to mind. Hardly anyone will think of T-shirts, but the item of clothing has the potential to make a look appear modern and fresh or monotonous and old-fashioned in seconds. Do you know what’s important when it comes to t-shirts? In 2024, three dress models will be ahead because they flatter our silhouette, complement other fashion trends and are also very elegant without being bulky.

T-shirt trends 2024: This is what matters

As with all pieces of clothing we buy, there is one rule that comes first: we have to feel comfortable in the look. Not every trend suits us and that’s a good thing. The year 2024 will bring comfort back to T-shirts. Coziness is trendy now, but you should still pay attention to one or two things:

  1. Buy the right size: This doesn’t primarily mean your clothing size, but rather the size that suits your style. If you want to create an oversized look, it is worth buying the same shirt in one size larger. If you want to emphasize your silhouette, smaller sizes are helpful.
  2. Buy quality: Synthetic materials such as polyester can give off an unpleasant odor when you sweat. For this reason, we use cotton or wool-silk blends for T-shirts. Not only are they long-lasting, they also give us a feeling of freshness.
  3. Some trends you own: Trends are not always suitable for the masses, but you can still make them your own if you adapt them for yourself. Instead of a tight-fitting crop top, wear a shirt that can be tucked into your pants but still hugs your body. There are no limits to your creativity.

Three T-shirt styles we particularly love in 2024

Polo shirts: the trend from the catwalk

At Miu Miu in 2024 there will be no escaping the polo shirt. At its spring-summer show for 2024, the fashion label presented several versions of the sporty shirt. With a mini skirt, two T-shirts on top of each other or in combination with low-slung wide-leg pants: the polo shirt can be styled in all looks on the catwalk. The shirt is also a long-time favorite at Lacoste and Ralph Lauren and is experiencing a new upswing with the quiet luxury trend. Polo shirts may not be to everyone’s taste, but they have the advantage of being timelessly elegant and can be worn even years later. So it’s a trend that doesn’t end after just one season. However, what we particularly love about the trendy T-shirt is the variety in cut. There are tight-fitting, knitted, oversized or colorful designs so that everyone can find what they are looking for.

T-shirts with longer sleeves

Not a long sleeve, but not short either: in 2024 we will wear T-shirts with slightly longer sleeves and a loose fit. We already paid attention to a loose fit for the 2022 Breton sweater and in 2024 the focus will be on oversized T-shirts. Even on days when you are at war with your own body and feel like everything is squeaking and wobbling, the new fashion trend gives you security. Nothing is tight, the casual folds of the T-shirt flatter the figure and the extra-long arms also cover our upper arms, which we are only too happy to criticize. The new It-Girl Sofia Richie is also a fan of the new fashion trend and combines a wide-cut T-shirt with loose jeans and a bag in a matching color.

The stars’ favorite model

A T-shirt that not only fashionistas but also stars like Lena Gercke and Hailey Bieber swear by is the classic, tight-fitting shirt with short sleeves. Blogger Sabina Socol is also a fan of the model because it allows her to highlight her feminine assets. The length doesn’t matter with this model; both crop versions and longer models that are tucked into the pants are currently in trend. A little professional tip: It’s best to keep this T-shirt in one color, so it can be easily combined with eye-catching pieces such as leather skirts.
