Netflix released a first teaser for the future season of the series The Witcher. It will be marked by a big change: Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia.
The promotion of season 4 of The WitchIt started. For Netflix, this will not be an easy feat: it is symbolized by a crucial change in the casting. After several years of good and loyal service, Henry Cavill cedes the costume of Geralt of Rivia to Liam Hemsworth – Chris’s little brother (who shines as a “bad guy” in Furiosa: A Mad Max saga).
We haven’t yet had the opportunity to see Liam Hemsworth portrayed as Geralt of Rivia. It’s now done thanks to a short teaser of The Witcher broadcast on May 22. Netflix starts slowly with foggy images, showing the silhouette of the hero who will eventually turn around to reveal his face. For the atmosphere, the soundtrack lets us enjoy the growl of a monster.

The task does not look easy for Liam Hemsworth, who will have to convince and will suffer from comparisons with Henry Cavill. The latter, also at ease as Superman, shone as Geralt, notably thanks to his passion for The Witcher. His departure would also have been motivated by disagreements with the screenwriters. He would have wanted something closer to the books.
Of course, the teaser does not allow you to judge Liam Hemsworth’s performance. We can barely say that the resemblance is there, despite the slightly finer facial features. In any case, Henry Cavill’s defenders are already there to criticize the change. Because, yes, Liam Hemsworth had also applied for the role of Thor, ultimately obtained by his brother. Let us remember, however, that he did not hesitate to make a fairly impressive physical transformation to be more muscular than ever. In April, on his Instagram account, he showed his evolution materialized by immense arms and veins ready to explode. No one will be able to attack him for a lack of involvement.
Judged on preconceptions, Liam Hemsworth will have to live with these criticisms for two entire seasons, since it was announced that The Witcher will end at the end of the fifth season.
