At CES in Las Vegas, Withings presented BeamO, a small device that will allow you to perform electrocardiograms, record the sounds of your heart, take your temperature and analyze your blood oxygen level. .
If we mainly know Withings for its connected watches, such as the ScanWatch 2, the ScanWatch Light or the ScanWatch Nova, the French manufacturer has for several years diversified by offering even more advanced health devices. In addition to its connected scales, its sleep sensor or its blood pressure monitor, the French manufacturer unveiled, this Monday, a health device allowing a complete check-up, the Withings BeamO.
Presented at the opening of CES in Las Vegas, the Withings BeamO comes in the form of a small bar equipped with a touch screen which will allow you to carry out several health measurements directly from your home, without needing to go through a doctor.
Thermometer, pulse oximeter, electrocardiogram and stethoscope
This device will thus take up certain measurements already offered on Withings watches such as an electrocardiogram by positioning your thumbs on the two electrodes, but also the measurement of heart rate and blood oxygenation using a heart rate monitor and an optical pulse oximeter. The Withings BeamO is also capable of measuring body temperature.
However, the BeamO goes a little further than Withings hybrid watches by recording heart or lung sounds. Like a stethoscope, the device will allow you to hear acoustic waves from the chest and back using a piezoelectric disc.
Not only will it be possible to listen to these sounds live using a USB-C to jack adapter, but we will also be able to record them directly in the Withings application. Subsequently, these recordings can also be shared directly with a doctor, while the other data can be exported in the form of a PDF health report directly using its Wi-Fi connection.
The Withings BeamO was announced this Monday in Las Vegas and will be available from June in France. It will be priced at 249.95 euros.
