The Californian brand Super73 unveils a new video featuring its latest creation, an electric motorcycle called C1X. Still at the prototype stage, it still remains mysterious on its technical sheet.
If electric cars have become common, even almost commonplace, electric motorcycles are even less so. Nevertheless, more and more brands are getting into this niche, whether new manufacturers like Zero Motorcycles or more traditional ones like Harley-Davidson or Kawasaki. But do you know Super73?
A promising motorcycle
This is’a young brand founded in 2016 in Southern Californiawhich draws its inspiration from the world of the 1970s. If the firm already offers several models of electric bicycles, it now wishes to enter a very different market, that of the motorcycle.
An increasingly competitive segment, with the arrival of many manufacturers, such as the Chinese Dayi or the French Sodium Cycles, which unveiled last January at CES in Las Vegas a small electric motorcycle called Xubaka. A few months later, in March, Super73 lifted the veil on a new concept announcing its first real motorcycle.
This is the C1X, which at the time had not given much information about it, and which had then only been shown in photos. Some months later, the Californian brand is once again talking about it by publishing a video of its motorcycle in action.
Note that this is only a prototype for the time being, which seems rather close to production. But for now, Super73 gives very little information about it. The brand’s website is content, in fact, to evoke a battery charging to 80% in less than an hour and a speed exceeding 120 km / h.
Correct autonomy
Fortunately, the site’s journalists Electrek seem to be quite well informed and give us some additional information. These point out that this C1X should weigh less than 136 kilos and would display a range of 160 kilometers around town. A quite honorable figure for a model that is not really designed for performance.
However, nothing has been said about the battery capacity, while all the details have probably not yet been finalized. According to the site, this new creation should be between the high-end electric bike and the small electric motorcycle. The Super73 C1X has LED lights and 15-inch wheels as well as a reduced wheelbase to improve agility.
It now remains to be seen when the production version will finally see the light of day, and above all at what price. For comparison, the Dayi E-Odin 2.0, which displays a maximum speed of around 100 km / h for a power of 6 kW is displayed from 5,079 euros in France.
