This magnificent laptop with transparent screen could soon be fully revealed

Lenovo is reportedly about to show off its own vision of the transparent display, this time integrated into a laptop PC. The concept could be shown at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of the month.

Lenovo made its impact at CES, presenting a whole series of concept products that turned heads during the show, like this PC that can run Windows and Android at the same time or this other machine that can change color at once. will.

The manufacturer obviously still had some work to do for the Mobile World Congress 2024 which will be held in Barcelona from February 26 to 29: Windows Report reveals information on a brand new, quite crazy concept which will be presented during the show.

Lenovo presents its transparent laptop PC

Transparent screens made a big splash during CES in Las Vas a month ago, even if the technology still seems far from being democratized among the general public. LG and Samsung have both introduced displays of this type at CES in recent years, but these are primarily aimed at the automotive or high-end retail world.

It is now Lenovo’s turn to come up with its own concept, but this time integrated into a laptop PC. We remember that Samsung presented the first model of its kind in 2010 at CES and it seems that the idea is still a dream for manufacturers. According to the images revealed by the Windows Report site, the panel is completely transparent, just like the rest of the chassis and in particular the keyboard.

Nothing is certain, however, looking at these first photos and even less so the technical sheet of this ThinkPad which does not yet have a name. We hope that Lenovo will reveal more at MWC, if this machine is ever intended to be sold commercially.

A completely refreshed range for 2024

But this is not the only leak relayed by Windows Report, which also reports six updates for its entire range of laptop PCs.

The ThinkBook 14 G4 becomes a true 2-in-1 PC with a 360-degree hinge that will allow you to rotate the screen, now touchscreen, as you wish. Note that the panel will now feature the much-maligned external notch, which houses the camera, but also the microphone as well as sensors to operate Windows Hello, Microsoft’s biometric recognition.

This notch will also be found in the manufacturer’s mid-range models, namely the ThinkPad T14 (Intel and AMD) as well as the ThinkPad T14S, which enrich their connectivity offering while refining the edges around the screen. Same treatment for the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3, which also seems to be lighter despite its diagonal.

Finally, the ThinkPad x12 with its detachable screen will be entitled to a second generation with an updated technical sheet, even if we don’t know much more. Lenovo will also offer a new version of its ThinkVision M14T Gen 2 touch screen, which should switch to Oled with better definition.

We will know more during the Barcelona show, but we already feel that Lenovo is gradually improving its range of laptops for a year 2024 which promises to be decisive for the PC market.
