Good news for blunderers: the WhatsApp application will make it possible to modify its messages. A new feature planned when and under what conditions?

Who has never sent a message with a spelling mistake seen too late? Who has never pressed “send” when a word incorrectly modified by the automatic corrector had slipped into their text? Very few are those who are not affected by these unfortunate and sometimes embarrassing errors. This new WhatsApp feature will therefore suit everyoneespecially the most blundering among us.

After announcing a change to lock a conversation, the messaging app owned by Meta (Facebook) will indeed allow the modification of its messages, whether on an iPhone or an Android smartphone (never take to the toilet for that matter). Good to know to avoid friendly, family or even professional misunderstandings. But when is this expected? And what exactly can we do? We tell you everything.

Changing your WhatsApp messages is finally possible

If WhatsApp had mentioned an update to make a conversation secret or to avoid the automatic download of photos received via the application on his phone, we were impatiently awaiting the possibility of correcting his messages. Since this Tuesday, it is finally possible. In a press release, WhatsApp however specifies that the functionality is being rolled out worldwide and that it will therefore be available everywhere in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp allows you to correct your text after sending. Handy if you made a mistake, used the wrong word or just changed your mind about the content of your message, or even if you got the wrong conversation. But how to do it ? YOU long press the message to change and you select from the “Edit” menu. But there is a time limit to respect: you will not be able to correct if you intervene more than 15 minutes after the sending. For the recipient, the mention “modified” will be specified but he will not have access to the modification history as it can be the case on Google Docs.
