Microsoft is preparing a new generation of Windows 11 for ARM chips, and here is undoubtedly the first image of this new system. The Walking Cat account, well known to Microsoft enthusiasts, has published several images of a new Lenovo machine. We don’t yet know the characteristics, but the name of the product already says a lot: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14(.5) 2024 Snapdragon Edition.

We easily understand that this is one of the first PCs to integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite. This is the brand new ARM chip for PCs from Qualcomm that we have already been able to try and which promises to compete with the Apple M3 quite effectively.

From Windows 11 to ChatGPT sauce

Another detail that we can notice in the published images: the change in the Windows 11 wallpaper. This seems like a trivial detail, but a change in the default wallpaper is generally quite significant for Microsoft.

In this case, it is a slight modification of the basic Windows wallpaper to make it adopt new colors. And not just any colors, since these are the colors used by Microsoft for Copilot, which brings together all the functions linked to generative AI in Windows. That’s good, we know that the next major version of Windows will focus on “AI PCs”.

For the rest, we can only get our hands on a PC that seems particularly fine. We also wonder if the PC will integrate active ventilation or not. The move to ARM chips allowed the MacBook Air to do without fans. The images do not allow us to completely conclude on this point, especially since a view of the underside of the chassis is missing.

PCs with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips are expected this summer. We expect a presentation at the Computex show at the very beginning of June.
