A nugget arrives on PS5
The independent video game scene is coming to life with the highly anticipated announcement of the arrival of the game Vampire Survivors on PlayStation 4 and PS5. This rogue-lite type game, appreciated for its pixel-art aesthetic, is already a must-have on various platforms such as Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, as well as on mobile and PC. Originally launched in 2022, Vampire Survivors quickly captured the attention of players thanks to its addictive gameplay where you must fend off incessant hordes of enemies while unlocking new characters, weapons and skills.
The transition of Vampire Survivors to PlayStation consoles, especially the PS5, was highly anticipated by the gaming community, and its release is scheduled for this summer. This deployment will coincide with the launch of new downloadable content which promises to further enrich the gaming experience. This DLC, entitled Operation Guns feat. Contra, will include iconic characters from Konami’s Contra game series, including Brad Fang. Scheduled for May 9, this DLC intends to mix the universe of Vampire Survivors with the fighting style and characters of Contra, thus offering a new dimension to the already rich game.
Vampires everywhere
The PS5 announcement was made during the Triple-I Initiative presentation, where the developers also revealed other important updates for Vampire Survivors. Among these are the Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari DLCs, launching in December 2022 and April 2023, respectively. These expansions continue to diversify gameplay and maintain player interest.
Beyond the game itself, the developers of Vampire Survivors are not stopping there and are currently working on an animated television series based on the game. Few details have been disclosed about this project, but the goal is clear: transform “Vampire Survivors” into a premium television series to delight fans even more.
