This Samira mod that turns LoL into Devil May Cry 5

League of Legends has always been full of references, whether they come from other video games, audiovisual works such as films or series, or the same. Although most are small details, such as an interaction or a dance, other inspirations (or homages) are sometimes much more visible: Samira testifies to it, which recalls without possible dispute the universe of Devil May Cry.

DmC thunders in the Rift

Hideki Kamiya’s work was a reference during the creation and design of this champion which over the past few months has oscillated between different states, over nerfs and buffs from Riot Games. “Way too powerful”, “slightly balanced” and “completely useless” — Samira has gone through all the power levels out there and, despite her badass design, it’s clear that she still struggles to truly find her place in the Fail.

It is perhaps this observation that has encouraged RoloSaurio to give birth to this little mod that modifies the sound effects of its combos to make them much more satisfying and above all more familiar. In fact, it is original sound effects of the DmC license…

As you can see and hear in the video above, it at changed the sound effects of Desert Rose combos so that they sound the same as those of the protagonists from Devil May Cry 5. The thing sticks so well to the champion that one wonders if Riot Games could not acquire the rights to use these sound effects in order to associate them with a skin.

That said, while waiting for an official version, it will be enough to appreciate this mod with the eyes, and not with the hands: since it is an external modification of the client, and although Riot is most often magnanimous on this subject, its use could well earn you a small ban…

A new way to play Akali has taken hold of professional League of Legends players. It’s a very particular and much more tanky item choice that will give Riot Games headaches.
