A certain excitement animates the world of electric scooters, which never ceases to amaze us. Faced with machines that follow one another and look similar, the Ubee has something to arouse curiosity. Ubee is the creation of two Belgians, Wouter de Beukelaar and Marleen Eriksen, who thought about a multimodal object, less bulky than an electric bike but retaining the practical aspect of transporting luggage.
The scooter accommodates 40 kg of luggage
The Ubee is as much a scooter as it is a shopping trolley, a rolling suitcase or a recovery trolley. Already, the machine has three wheels, a rarity in the field, with two front wheels like a Taito, another Belgian electric scooter. An asset for stability and ensuring other functions once folded. Conversely of an electric scooter folding its steering column, here, the deck and the rear wheel fold forward. Practical therefore, because the two handles are combined with a hoop which forms the structure also serving as a handle.

The Ubee benefits from a function that could be described as “cargo”, with a front space on which you can place a bag, a satchel, a basket, a suitcase, in short whatever you want. The objects must be fixed on the two bars of the steering column. To support this weight – 40 kg maximum – without making driving dangerous, the two front wheels are 10 inches, compared to 8 inches at the rear. The system incorporates a mechanism that tilts the column as well as a rear brake (drum or disc: the site indicates a drum with corresponding photos, but also a disc brake).
Ubee, a 3-wheel scooter that is however expensive
Existing in a non-electric version, the Ubee of course offers an electric scooter version with a motor on the front axle – without precise data on power – allowing it to reach 18 km/h at peak. However, this is less than a conventional model clocking at 25 km/h, while the range is unknown. We only know that the battery is housed under the base at the front, bringing the vehicle to 17.5 kg on the scale.
Unfortunately, the Ubee 3-wheel scooter is very expensive. Priced at 1,790 euros, this model charges for its manufacturing in Belgium on a small scale. As a reminder, the brand is very young. It still makes an effort at launch with a discount of -15%, or 1,521 euros, or a reservation for 100 euros brings a 5% reduction when paying for shipping.
