This ultra-powerful electric tricycle is much faster than Usain Bolt over 100 meters

The American manufacturer Vook had fun designing an ultra-powerful electric tricycle, whose maximum speed can reach 65 km/h. The device is currently the subject of an Indiegogo campaign.

The world of electric mobility is full of companies and entrepreneurs who are never short of ideas. This is the case of the American Vook, whose electric tricycle e-trike is taking advantage of a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to get started. The idea behind this project is simple: to offer an electrified three-wheeler that is very powerful to say the least.

It is necessary first of all to pose a legal framework to this machine. With its nominal power of 3000 W (6000 W peak) and its maximum speed of 65 km/h with Boost mode, the e-trike is formally excluded from the electric bike and speedbike categories according to French law. His top speed and power prevent him from doing so.

0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds

It could possibly belong to category L5e vehicles, i.e. symmetrical three-wheeled vehicles, but we strongly doubt that it meets all the safety standards specific to France, and that it can thus be certified by us. We therefore do not necessarily advise you to set your sights on it.

According to the Indiegogo page, deliveries of the e-trike will be made worldwide. You are dealing here with a tricycle a bit particular, where the very low center of gravity contrasts with a relatively high positioning of the hands – which have access to the acceleration trigger. Above all, its acceleration is enough to impress more than one and more than one.

Vook communicates on a 0 to 100 km / h carried out in 7 seconds, thanks to a torque of 145 Nm and despite a weight of 40 kg. Here again, these relatively breathtaking performances given the size of the vehicle are at odds with the image conveyed by the manufacturer, which presents it above all as a fun and playful product.

Modes to slow down the speed

Fortunately, three other modes make it possible to limit the maximum speed: Sport at 32 km/h, Eco at 25 km/h and Security at 17 km/h. Several versions exist according to a different energy capacity: the most expensive of them relies on a 50 Ah accumulator, for a range of 180 km and a price of 2298 euros, after discount.

Vook estimates that it can start production in October, for deliveries in December 2023.
