Assistant Preview is making its way to more and more Android smartphones. Social networks have been reporting this problem for 12 days already, but Google has still not offered a solution.
As its name suggests, the Assistant Preview widget is a Google Assistant feature that lets you get information with a quick glance at your smartphone’s main screen without having to open an app. It is therefore very practical for view upcoming events on your calendarweather forecasts, road traffic or even the sports results of your favorite teams.

Since the launch of this feature in 2019, one would think that Google has mastered this well. widget with a fairly simple principle. This is not the case, and testimonies concerning a serious malfunction are increasingly numerous on social networks. The problem can be expressed in two ways : either the widget “crashes” and displays a message “Glance App Widget Error”, impossible to exploit for ordinary users and application developers, or worse, it does not appear at all. Pixel, Samsung, or even OnePlus, the victims have all kinds of devices running Android 14, 13 or 12. The bug therefore does not seem not affect a particular brand or model of smartphones.
This bug wouldn’t be so annoying if it were possible to remove the widget in question from the main screen. But the owners of Pixel smartphones simply cannot uninstall this app. Instead of the widget, they sometimes see a red rectangle indicating a cryptic message: “Failed to load. Enter adb logcat ». Faced with this conundrum, many victims have tried to update the Google application and reinstall the widget, with varying success. Google still hasn’t offered a solution to the malfunction of the Assistant Preview widget on Android smartphones.
