This young TikTokeuse prepares her video and finds herself filming her stalker

The young Kiara was able to capture on TikTok the moment when a man in his thirties makes advances to her. A rare video of a still sadly banal moment for young girls.

It’s a rare video, documenting a situation that is far less so: It shows a very young girl being approached by a much older stranger, who makes advances to her. These are the images that the young Kiara, 18, was able to capture. During a live on TikTok, during which she waited for questions from her subscribers, she sat alone in the lobby of a hotel where she was staying with her parents. It was then that a stranger approached him.

If the man cannot be seen, he is heard asking the young girl if he can take the free chair at her table. She accepts and the man sits down next to her, starting the conversation. The young girl seems very uncomfortable and even scared, while the man is hitting on her (or rather, harassing her). Kira then tells him that she is live, which does not seem to bother him. However, he ended up leaving in front of the young girl’s very clear discomfort. Kiara then recounts having spoken to her parents, terrified. The hotel staff found the 30-something to have a chat with him.

The TikTok network is often denounced for its videos which hypersexualize young adolescents and expose them to harassment. But it is also a gold mine of content on issues such as education for consent, sexuality, harassment … This is highlighted by the video of Kiara and its impact (it is now viral and has been repeated by many media around the world), it is the terrible banality of this situation for young girls. The latest figures available, provided by the association Hollaback after a 2014 survey, report 65% of women having experienced street harassment before their 15th birthday (and even before their 10th birthday for 14% of them). Before stigmatizing the teenagers who put themselves on the scene on the networks, when will a real questioning of the erotic gaze carried by some men on minors?
