Received on the set of Day-to-day on TMC, this January 17, Thomas Pesquet returned to the many “slack” that he experienced aboard the ISF spacecraft. The opportunity for the famous 43-year-old astronaut to come back to the many difficulties he experienced during his many missions. “What’s funny is that the faces are a bit the same for all expeditions, what is hard is the third quarter“, he revealed, adding: “The third quarter is always a bit of a slack.”

The first quarter, you arrive, you have adrenaline, you’re super deep, you have plenty of things to do. The second shift, in general, is where you are effective, where you have appropriated your environment“, he then indicated, before continuing: “The last quarter, you prepare the return. And there’s this thing always a little soft in the third quarter where you say to yourself: ‘I’ve already done a lot of work. It’s not really the time to think about the return’ (…) And then it’s not easy to be so far from his family”, he added then, mentioning finally having to call his family and his loved ones to motivate himself to return to Earth.

Space conquest ? Very little for his wife!

Away from his wife Laura André-Boyet during his many expeditions, it is with great impatience that Thomas Pesquet finds his wife when he returns to Earth. In a previous interview with Parisian, on December 25, the one who shares the life of the astronaut had confided in the various fears she had about her darling. “Space fascinates me, but it worries me a little too!“, she explained, before adding, not without humor: “I am not one of those people who have been passionate since childhood, my vocation was revealed a little later. I don’t dream of being an astronaut. Six-month confinements without a shower: very little for me!
