A 40-year-old is suspected of attacking his wife and their two children (11 and 9 years old) on Wednesday and threatening to kill them. The heavily intoxicated man was arrested.
On Wednesday afternoon, an anonymous caller called the police in Feldbach: A very drunk man had threatened his wife and two children with a knife. When the patrol arrived at the crime scene, the family, who had only been living in Feldbach for two months, had already been able to get to safety. The officers then met a 40-year-old Romanian on the street. Due to the appropriate description of the perpetrator, the man was arrested with around three per thousand. According to the police, the 40-year-old is said to have beaten his 43-year-old wife, his 11-year-old son and his 9-year-old daughter and threatened them with a combat knife. The wife and children fled. The daughter then fled to friends, the wife and son ran away in the direction of the town center. The 40-year-old was banned from entering and approaching as well as a provisional ban on weapons. He is taken to the Graz-Jakomini prison. The family is currently being cared for by the District Authority of Southeast Styria.
