“In the evening, the focus of the thunderstorm activity will shift to the east of the country, including Vienna. The main danger is and remains heavy rain,” wrote the team from the Austrian Severe Weather Center on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Stations with the highest rainfall total (up to 5 p.m.) were Langenlois (Lower Austria) with more than 50 liters of rain per square meter, Kössen (Tirol) with 33.9 liters and Mürzzuschlag (Styria) with 32 liters of rain per square meter. The values from midnight to 5 p.m. on Wednesday were taken into account.
