Google, Facebook, Apple … All bow to the Chinese social network that has become ultra-popular: TikTok. According to an American ranking, its website is the most visited of the year 2021 in the world, ahead of all the other digital giants.
It was only seventh in 2020, according to the ranking of the American company Cloudflare, and therefore made an impressive breakthrough this year. According to its analysis, it was on February 17, 2021 that TikTok was recorded at the top of the rankings of the most visited sites in one day for the first time. “In March, TikTok got a few more days, as well as in May, but it was after August 10, 2021 that TikTok took the lead most days. There were a few days when Google was number one, but the months of October and November were mostly those of TikTok, ”explains the American company.

The data for 2020 should however be analyzed with caution, the Cloudflare tool having been launched in September 2020, and therefore having only taken into account the months of September to December that year, compared to the whole year in 2021. .
Also overtaking Facebook, TikTok is also becoming the most popular social network in the world. The number of users has exploded in particular during lockdowns linked to the coronavirus pandemic. Last September, the Chinese firm ByteDance, which developed the application, claimed to have passed the milestone of one billion active users.
