As The Verge reports, the company is testing a new artificial intelligence chatbot called Tako. This chatbot, which will be displayed above the profile icon on a video, will allow the user to ask it a whole series of questions.
TikTok is currently testing a new artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT which will install into its app and help users discover and search for content. The experience is similar to that of Snap, whose ChatGPT-powered “My AI” bot launched last month.

Tako is supposed to speak to TikTok users while helping them discover more content. Videos and screenshots captured by Watchful.ai show Tako in TikTok’s main video interface, above the user’s profile picture on the right side of the screen, represented by an icon in the shape of a ghost.
Once clicked, a warning appears stating that the feature is experimental and “should not be used” for medical, legal, or financial advice. Watchful analysts who managed to spot the chatbot said the feature can currently recommend videos or content creators based on what the user is watching.
Like ChatGPT, the user can formulate queries in natural language or discover new content by asking for recommendations. For example, while watching a video about the coronation of King Charles, Tako might suggest users to ask ” What is the significance of the coronation of King Charles III? “.
