TIM: agreement with Ericsson around 5G

(CercleFinance.com) – Ericsson announces that it has been chosen by TIM to provide it with a dual-mode 5G core that will allow TIM to modernize its current ‘evolved packet core’ (EPC) and introduce new standalone 5G in a cloud-native solution unique.

Transitioning to standalone 5G will enable TIM to deliver higher data transfer rates and ultra-low latency.

‘With standalone 5G, it will be possible to enable a series of innovative services that require high performance, low latency and maximum security, as well as the network slicing feature that will allow mobile operators to monetize network quality. ‘, says Andrea Missori, President of Ericsson Italy.
