The first photos from the set of ‘Beetlejuice 2’ have just been released and give a glimpse of Winona Ryder in the long-awaited sequel.
The shooting of Beetlejuice 2 has officially started and the first images have just been published, as reported by ComingSoon in particular.
In the behind-the-scenes photos released, fans can get their first glimpse of Winona Ryder’s return as Lydia Deetz after more than three decades since the original Tim Burton film. In this second part, the actress will notably give the reply to Jenna Ortega who will play the role of her teenage daughter.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE SUITE?
At the controls of this long-awaited second opus, Tim Burton obviously, who will find Jenna Ortega after their remarkable collaboration in the hit Netflix series, Wednesday. Next to Winona Ryderwe can find two other stars of the original film: Michael Keaton and Catherine O’Hara.
The sequel will also feature new characters, in addition to that of Jenna Ortega, which will be played by Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe. The project, in development for more than 30 years now, has yet to reveal its plot, but initial plans once spoke of a second film set in Hawaii.
As a reminder, beetle juicethe original, tells the story of a recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis), who haunt their ancient home soon to be invaded by a wealthy and rowdy New York family (Catherine O’HaraJeffrey Jones and Winona Ryder) wishing to renovate the premises. Adam and Barbara, scandalized, decide to dislodge the intruders. But their classic ghost tricks and other spells have no effect. That’s when they hire an obnoxious and devious freelance “bio-exorcist”, a certain Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton)…

Critical and commercial success, the film had brought in more than 73,700,000 dollars at the worldwide box office when it was released in 1988. Due to its success and influence on pop culture, beetle juice subsequently spawned an animated series, video games as well as a musical.
Beetlejuice 2, which does not yet have a release date in France, is however scheduled in American theaters for September 6, 2024.
