timid increase of 2% for Axa

Life insurance rates continue to fall. It is Axa’s turn to announce the remuneration paid for the year 2023: 2% base rate on its main contracts, with possible bonuses of up to 3.50% however.

Axa announced this Wednesday, January 10 a base rate of 2% on its main life insurance contracts, Arpges, Excelium, Privilge, Odyssiel, Expantiel, Figures Libres, Optial, up 0.60 points compared to 2022. But depending on the portion invested in units of account, the remuneration rises up to 3.50%.

With a base rate of 2%, Axa is showing a clear rise, without however being at the level of the first announcements of this 2023 rate season… and probably below the market average. Last year, Axa had paid 1.40% net management fees for the year 2022, and 0.90% at the lowest in 2021.

Axa France once again confirms its ability to offer a regular and solid return on its euro fund over time, underlined Corinne Calendini, general director of Axa France’s individual savings, retirement and protection activities in a press release.

Eurogrowth, a case in point

If the traditional euro fund remains the backbone of life insurance, the education and expertise of our distribution networks have made it possible to position the “Growth Fund” as a base, now essential, of Axa’s offer France, continues Corinne Calendini. Specific support, in the family of eurocroissance funds, the Axa Croissance Fund displays a return of 3.30% in 2023 but this performance can be read over time for a fund whose guarantee is only acquired at the scheduled maturity (after 8 years or more): before, this performance was 3.30% in 2022, 3% in 2021, 2.60% in 2020, 3% in 2019. The average annualized performance since 2017 is therefore 2 .98%.

Bonus rates in 2024

But this is not the only announcement from Axa. The insurer will offer boosted rates for 2024. Any payment made from January 1, 2024 on funds Euro+ and Eurocroissance+ will allow savers to benefit from higher rates of return. Depending on UC’s share, the increase will vary between +1% and +2%.

For those who have already invested in these funds in 2023, Axa also offers an increased rate ranging from 0.5% to 1%.
