Tinted lip oil: our simple and inexpensive homemade treatment recipe: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Sweet almond and avocado vegetable oils, rich in fatty acids, are the ingredients of choice for making this type of treatment. These active ingredients stimulate skin cell renewal and strengthen the skin barrier. For your recipe, choose them cold pressed to take full advantage of their properties. Combine their benefits with those of honey which helps heal the skin and those of vegetable glycerin which deeply hydrates the epidermis. Finally, vitamin E is also a good ally because it acts against the effects of free radicals responsible for cell aging. It also guarantees good conservation of homemade cosmetic preparations.

Recipe :

  • 2 tbsp. tablespoon of sweet almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. tablespoon of avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp. tablespoon of liquid honey
  • 1/2 tsp. tablespoon of vegetable glycerin
  • 1 tbsp. teaspoon of liquid vitamin E
  • An empty lip gloss bottle or roll-on bottle
  • ½ teaspoon colored mica powder

Steps to prepare tinted lip oil

In a container, mix the sweet almond oil and avocado oil with the liquid honey. Add vitamin E, vegetable glycerin and colored mica powder. Mix again so that the treatment becomes completely homogeneous and smooth. Using a small funnel, pour the treatment into the chosen container.

How to properly apply tinted oil?

You have opted for a bottle of gloss with a foam-tipped applicator ? Then distribute the material from the center of the mouth towards the corners, first on the lower lip then on the upper lip. The roll-on can deliver more material: in this case, roll the ball only on the upper lip and delicately pinch the mouth.

For an elegant result, the oil should be applied to very smooth lips. Consider exfoliating once a week with a specific treatment or by mixing honey and sugar. Make circular movements with your fingertips to remove any small dead skin and rinse thoroughly.

Precautions for use and storage

The bottle that contains your lip oil must first be perfectly cleaned and disinfected. Sterilize it beforehand by immersing it in a pan of boiling water for ten minutes. If your container is made of very thin plastic, clean it with soap and water instead. Let dry and wipe with a cloth or handkerchief soaked in alcohol.

The lip oil will keep for approximately 6 months.

What to replace mica powder with?

You can also use a natural coloring instead of mica powder, such as that made from beet juice. It will tint your oila pink to purple shade depending on the quantity incorporated.
