Netflix gives an account owner more control with the new “Manage Access and Devices” option. Above, the person concerned can, if he wishes, eject a user with just one click.
That a Netflix account has circulated a little too much around a person is something common. And after all, the owner of the account in question is in his right to sort and control the flow of users having access to his subscription. To do this, Netflix has unsheathed a brand new function currently being deployed.
At Frandroid, some journalists have already seen it in their settings. This new section, named “Manage access and devices“, gives you more control thanks to a simple, clear and intuitive system. To access it, you must go to “Account», then the sub-menu «Security and Privacy“.
Simple and efficient
The page reads:View the list of most recently active devices on this account. You can disconnect any device that is unknown to you or change your password for more security“. Below, you then discover the famous devices that connected last.
The user name, date, time of last use, place of connection and device used are indicated. A button “Sign out» then allows you to disconnect it from your account, as if nothing had happened. The idea here is to be able to manage the situation on a case-by-case basis.
Previously, a buttonDisconnect all devicesdid exist, but it wasn’t necessarily suitable — you don’t particularly want to disconnect all your devices, all at once, because of some smart guy who was occupying your account.
Keep control
This new feature is practical, because it also allows you to see if your account credentials have leaked. If, suddenly, a number of people you don’t know are using your account, then you can find out via this page. A change of password is then recommended.
Netflix says it has deployed this system worldwide, on the web version of its platform, as well as iOS and Android, according to the official press release.
