The second edition of the ViaVoice France-Émotions barometer draws the picture of a worn-out French society. The presidential election does not even seem to wake them up.

Un year later, things are no better. The morale of the French is roughly good, since 53% of the French consider it positive, a small point lower than last year. On the other hand, their body falters. Interviewed for the second time by the ViaVoice institute for its France-Emotions barometer (1), produced for Point and the Jean-Jaurès Foundation, more than half of them (57%) say they are tired. The pandemic, the successive confinements, the dilution of social relations, the anxiety-provoking announcements, all of this weighs on their physical state. A majority of them also say they are more tired than before the health crisis, and nearly one in two feels “more sensitive and more emotional” than in the first days of the Covid.
