Wishing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its mythical R5Renault is going to market a K7 player with a neo-retro trend.

Renault plays nostalgia with its K7 PlayeR5 player
Remember, a few months ago, Renault lifted the veil on a new electric version of its very popular R5, launched in January 1972. While waiting to be able to slip aboard this new electric R5, Renault will launch PlayeR5, a retrofitted portable cassette player, inspired by its famous city car and produced in collaboration with We Are Rewind.
In concrete terms, it’s about finding a “real” K7 walkman, like the one you might have proudly hung in your jeans pocket in the 90s to listen to the latest Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Queen or Michael Jackson.
A functional K7 player therefore, obviously modernized for the occasion, with charging via USB or even Bluetooth compatibility. This does not prevent this PlayeR5 from having a 3.5 mm jack, “as before”.
This modernized portable cassette player, with a design inspired by the recent Renault 5 electric prototype, is already available to order on the website. The Originals Renault. On the price side, count 189 euros to acquire this K7 reader, the first shipments of which are scheduled for August 12th.
