To keep their employees, companies will have to adapt to their expectations


While compensation remains an important factor, only one in five employees makes it a primary motivation at work, according to a study by Bain & Company.

The transformations that are shaking the world of work were initiated before the crisis, but this one has accelerated them. In his latest study,the future of work“, carried out in ten countries (United States, China, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Brazil) with 20,000 employees, the strategy and management consulting firm Bain & Company, estimates at 58 % share of employees who have had to rethink their work-life balance over the past 20 months. In fact, the expectations of employees have changed. Remuneration remains an important element for most employees, but only one in five makes it a primary motivation at work. For the others, the majority, the “good job” is no longer just a well-paid job.

Based on the priorities identified, Bain & Company draws up six types of profiles with which companies will now have to deal. Not completely new to the landscape, “operators” are flourishing…
