To revolutionize massive electricity storage, ENOGIA will manufacture supercritical CO2 turbomachines from the SCO2OP-TES consortium – 12/19/2023 at 09:13

ENOGIA (ISIN code: FR0014004974 – ticker: ALENO), expert in micro-turbomachines serving the energy transition, is proud to be part of the ambitious SCO2OP-TES project, funded by the European Union as part of the Horizon Europe program, aiming to revolutionize massive electricity storage thanks to an innovative Carnot battery architecture. The launch of this project took place officially on December 14 and 15, 2023 in Brussels.
Capitalizing on more than a decade of research and development of high-tech turbomachines, ENOGIA has been selected as the main manufacturing partner for the SCO2OP-TES project turbomachines. ENOGIA will design, develop, manufacture and test the main supercritical CO2 turbomachines used in this project, where a revolutionary Carnot battery architecture will be developed and tested by all project partners.
This project highlights ENOGIA’s recognized ability to develop high-performance supercritical CO2 turbomachines, acquired over many years of research and several projects (including the H2020 I-Therm project). ENOGIA is also very involved in research into thermodynamic electricity storage, a promising way of storing electricity without using limited and polluting resources, unlike chemical batteries.
