The number of homeless people in Germany has recently risen significantly.

In freezing temperatures, warmth is a precious gift, especially for the homeless. So everyone can help.

Practical tips: Helping people in the cold

To help homeless people or those in need in need, you don’t need a lavish feast with goose, red cabbage and dumplings. With these tips we can all help alleviate the suffering of some people:

Donations in kind: Clothing, blankets and sleeping bags are important in the cold months. Well-preserved winter clothing and warming accessories can be donated to local aid organizations or directly to homeless shelters.

Cold bus: In many cities, cold buses help those in need with warm meals, drinks, blankets and sleeping pads. Volunteer work: If you want to become active yourself, you can take the time to work in local soup kitchens or aid organizations. Personal commitment can have a direct and lasting impact on the quality of life of homeless people.
