Tomorrow belongs to us: “Anna hides a big secret in connection with the death of Malik” reveals Maud Baecker

After Alex, will Anna in turn be suspected of Malik’s death in “Tomorrow belongs to us”? Maud Baecker confides in the future of her character and the Anna-Karim couple. And promises explosive revelations in the next episodes.

Already well shaken by the return to Sète of Malik and Romy, will Karim and Anna have to face a descent into hell in the next episodes of Tomorrow belongs to us?

In any case, this is what we can fear since the “In camera” plot, which started on Monday on TF1 and coincided with the big return to the air of the soap opera after a month-long break. the Football World Cup, began with the death of Malik Ben Allal (Mhamed Arezki), the brother of Karim (Samy Gharbi).

And while the police are interested for the moment in Alex and Adam, most of the characters will gradually become suspects. Anna Delcourt including. Maud Baecker, who has been lending her features for almost six years to Chloé’s sister, who became a psychologist at Saint-Clair hospital after a career as a journalist, confides in the future of her character and the Anna-Karim couple. As well as what the rest of this shock intrigue under Cluedo influence has in store for us.

AlloCiné: Tomorrow belongs to us finally returned to the air on Monday, after a four-week break. How did you react when you learned what the authors had in store for you, with this charity evening that turned into a nightmare?

Maud Baecker: We always have incredible surprises in this series (laughs). It’s always quite hectic on my side, the authors always manage to surprise me. And there what was great is that we were very numerous in the same plot. It was very nice to shoot so many scenes together.

And we know that the public likes it when the characters come together and when incredible things happen, like in the disaster arcs. So when I found out what the writers had planned for the break, I thought it was great. We had to have a big suspense before the resumption of the broadcast.

How did the filming of this “In camera” plot go? How did you experience it?

It was really very pleasant. In addition, at night there is always a somewhat special atmosphere. Everything is softer, calmer, things take longer.

And then, beyond the fact that we were happy to shoot together, which is not so common in Tomorrow belongs to us, we had the chance to shoot the scenes of the charity evening in a sublime setting. This castle was superb and the director, Sandra Perrin, was wonderful. It was great group scenes, even if we were very tired because we were completely out of step. We were filming at night until very late. Or very early in the morning rather (laughs).

In Monday’s episode, Malik, Karim’s brother, was found murdered. What will be the consequences for Anna and Karim?

Anna, like many characters, hides a big secret that is linked to this story and Malik’s death. Things she can’t confess to Karim, because she tries to protect him. And of which she is an accomplice with Marianne (Luce Mouchel), her mother.

There are a lot of little secrets that are going to be revealed that are going to make things very explosive again and things are going to be turned upside down again for a lot of characters. The principle of Cluedo is that everyone has reasons to blame Malik and that everyone can be suspected.

We can also read in the synopses of the next episodes that Rayane is hiding a heavy secret. Is he also involved in this whole story?

Yes of course. Everyone will be involved until the end in this intrigue. All characters are potential suspects. Rayane (Sasha Birdy) including. Some try to protect their loved ones. There are many secrets, many revelations to come. And we can expect a surprising end, as always in Tomorrow belongs to us.

The previous arch on Karim and Malik was very strong. How did you experience the fact that the authors came to undermine Karim and Anna’s love story?

Oh, we’re used to it (laughs). But that’s what makes this relationship interesting to play. It’s not all flat, all smooth all the time. There’s a lot going on in these arches, with the past coming back, secrets, unsaid, very high stakes. We are always very happy when the authors reserve this kind of intrigue for us.

And then, viewers had been hoping for a plot devoted to Karim and his family for a long time…

Exactly. It’s a new part of Karim’s life that we finally discover. It was great and very interesting for Samy Gharbi.

How was the arrival of Dounia Coesens, Sasha Birdy and Mhamed Arezki in the series? Is it always nice to discover new game partners?

Completely. It’s very nice, especially when they are great actors and lovely people in life. With Dounia we really became friends. And we all got along really well on set. It’s a pleasure to have partners like them.

Do you think Karim and Anna’s baby project is still relevant? Would you like this to be the next step in their story?

There will be news about that very soon. There will be a conclusion to this adoption story following this whole “In Camera” arch. There will be a lot of twists and turns.

At the same time, we can assume that Rayane will take a more important place in Karim’s life now that his father is dead. It’s the case ?

Absolutely, we can imagine a lot of things about this blended family that we will see being born a little more on the screen in the next episodes. Malik’s death will shake it all up and create new bonds.

Will Anna be directly or indirectly involved in January’s disaster plot about the plane crash ?

No, not close anyway. Anna’s family will be involved, but not Anna directly.

You’ve done quite a few projects outside of the series in recent years, including The (almost) perfect love and The Daval Mystery. Can we hope that Anna will continue to be more present in Tomorrow belongs to us in the future? Or are there other projects on the horizon?

Other projects are coming. Especially in the theatre, I want to do more in 2023. It’s lucky that the production of Tomorrow belongs to us gives me the opportunity to do something else and frees me when necessary. I will therefore be a little less present in the next intrigues.
