Tomorrow belongs to us: why did Audrey refuse Damien’s marriage proposal? We have the answer

Why did Audrey (Charlotte Gaccio) refuse to marry Damien (Adrien Rob) during the last episode of “Tomorrow belongs to us” before the break? The truth will come out this week on TF1 during an emotionally charged scene.

Do Audrey and Damien still have a chance to reconcile in Tomorrow belongs to us? Not sure if we base ourselves on what awaits us in the next episodes of the soap opera.

Remember, in the episode of November 18, just before the four-week break in broadcasting, Damien (Adrien Rob) took his courage in both hands and made a very beautiful declaration of love to his companion before ask in marriage in the middle of the Christmas market of Sète.

Unfortunately for him, Audrey’s (Charlotte Gaccio) response was not as expected. Indeed, the mother of Jordan, Jack and Lizzie was content to tell him that she could not accept his request before leaving running from the market.

For more than a month, fans of Tomorrow belongs to us have been wondering what is the reason for this refusal. After all, the two lovers seemed to spin a perfect happiness.

And while the rerun episode, broadcast last night on TF1, focused on the dramatic consequences of the charity evening, the screenwriters will once again focus on Audrey and Damien from episode 1323, which will be proposed this Wednesday, December 21 and is already available on Salto.

Understanding thanks to Lizzie that Damien is in the worst possible condition and that he does not understand his reaction, Audrey sends a text message to the cop from the PTS to suggest that they meet over coffee and have a chat.

The time for explanations then came for this couple adored by viewers. Audrey decides to entrust a painful memory to Damien. A memory that she never even confessed to her children. She then explains that she was to marry Jordan’s father back when she was pregnant with his eldest son.

“We were very much in love. Well that’s what I thought”, lets slip Audrey before revealing to her companion that she waited for Jordan’s father in front of the town hall on their wedding day. In vain. “He never came. I was so ashamed. You can’t imagine how bad. I heard people whispering behind me, looking at me with pity. I didn’t know where to fuck anymore”.

Audrey adds that Jordan’s father ended up texting her after a while apologizing and confessing that he had simply changed his mind. So she raised Jordan on her own.

While she tells him that her marriage proposal took her by surprise and brought back all these bad memories, Damien swears to Audrey that he has nothing to do with Jordan’s father. “I understand better, but I’m not an asshole. I love you Audrey. And I want to share your life, all the time. And that of your children too”.

A very nice statement, once again, following which Audrey ends up dropping a terrible bombshell: “I always knew you were too good for me”. Damien doesn’t understand why the woman he loves is telling him that. But Audrey seems to have already come to terms with the idea that their story cannot last. “Because one day you are going to leave. (…) I know what awaits me, that’s all”.

“Do you realize the violence of what you’re saying to me? I tell you that I love you and you tell me that you don’t believe it?!”launches Damien, desperate, disappointed and hurt.

Audrey doesn’t seem to want to give their story another chance and lets Damien go, who doesn’t fully understand what just happened. Will they end up reuniting? Or is this really the end of the beautiful story of Audrey and Damien? Answer in the sequel to Tomorrow belongs to us on TF1 and on Salto.
