Tonight on TV: Belmondo’s grandson will move you


Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: Victor Belmondo in a feel-good movie, by the director of Les Choristes.

Grandson of the illustrious Jean-Paul Belmondo, Victor Belmondo has had a passion for cinema since childhood. After training as a screenwriter, he made his debut in front of the camera in 2015 in The very private life of Monsieur Sim, a dramatic comedy led by Jean-Pierre Bacri. There followed small roles in several feature films (All Inclusive, My Baby, Versus or You are young, you are beautiful), which gradually increased his notoriety.

In 2020, Victor Belmondo finally obtains a leading role in Envole-moi by Christophe Barratier. The budding actor lends his features to Thomas, a carefree youngster spending his nights in clubs and his days in bed until the day his doctor father forces him to take care of one of his patients – Marcus, 12, reached of a serious illness.

Inspired by a true story, this feel good movie full of good feelings reveals all the talent of Victor Belmondo. “This boy is very professional. (…) Apart from an obvious family resemblance, he also inherits from his grandfather a grace, a slender, almost elastic side, an apparently nonchalant attitude, without ever however lapsing into mimicry”notably confided Christophe Barratier about him.

Since then, the actor has participated in two mini-series (Notre-Dame la Part du Feu and Bardot) and was the headliner of the film Stop with your lies alongside Guillaume de Tonquédec.
