Tonight on TV: “He went beep, beep, we did meuh”: if you have the ref ‘, it means that you are ready to see this jewel of French comedy again

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a cult French comedy that smells of the sun and the girls…!

After spending three years hosting the seasons of Club Méditerranée, the Splendid troupe – made up of Christian Clavier, Michel Blanc, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte, Josiane Balasko and Marie-Anne Chazel -, has created a play from it. Title Cupids, Shellfish and Crustaceansit sold out for more than a year.

Based on an idea by producer Yves Rousset-Rouard, who is none other than Christian Clavier’s uncle, it was decided to turn this successful play into a film.

The Splendid troupe then embarked on the collective writing of the scenario, renamed Les Bronzés, and themselves chose a director in the person of Patrice Leconte, one of their friends, notably known for his comedy Les Vécés were closed from inside.

The Bronzed thus stages the tragicomic adventures of Gigi, Jérôme, Christiane, Jean-Claude, Bernard and Nathalie, a small group of vacationers in a club in the Ivory Coast. They are welcomed there by Popeye, Bobo and Bourseault, the Gentils Organiseurs. New encounters, momentary liaisons and marital dramas are on the agenda…

Released in 1978, The Bronzed brought together 2.3 million French people in theaters. Over time, it has become a cult film, the lines of which we know by heart (“Good evening, we’re going to bed. / Good evening, we’re going to fuck them.”, “Are you still sticking your ass out to quote Saint-John Perse?”, “Popeye, you should change your panties”or “Beep beep !”). A summer classic, to see and see again!

The Bronzed by Patrice Leconte with Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, Marie-Anne Chazel…

Tonight on TF1 at 9:10 p.m.
