Tonight on TV: if you like The First Name, you will love this comedy full of emotion

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: an evening with friends by Danièle Thompson.

After taking art history courses in New York, Danièle Thompson returned to France, where in 1966 she began a long collaboration as a screenwriter alongside her father Gérard Oury.

It was not until 1999 that Danièle Thompson took her turn behind the camera with La Bûche, an choral comedy-drama. If she continues with a romantic comedy (Calage Jet), the budding director truly finds her style in the choral film.

Thus, she returned in 2006 with Fauteuils d’ordinate, a sort of fable where different neurotic characters meet during an evening at the Café des Théâtres, then in 2009 with Le Code a changer, which is in a more contemporary register .

Indeed, the story takes place in Paris, on June 21. Like every year, a group of friends meets for a dinner to celebrate the Fête de la Musique. But this time, the meal is not going to be as usual. No more dictatorship of appearance, with its share of cordiality, hypocrisy and false good humor!

Between bursts of laughter and emotion, Danièle Thompson explores pretenses with a real sense of storytelling. In addition, the film is supported by an excellent cast: Karin Viard, Dany Boon, Marina Hands, Patrick Bruel, Emmanuelle Seigner, Patrick Chesnais, Pierre Arditi and Marina Foïs. A tasty recipe that attracted more than 1.6 million French people to theaters.

The Code has changed by Danièle Thompson with Karin Viard, Dany Boon, Marina Foïs…
