Four years after the excellent All on Stage, the brilliant animals from Illumination studios (Despicable Me, Minions, Super Mario Bros, the movie, Migration) returned to sing for the less formidable name All on Stage 2. Good news: this oh-so-friendly animated film, perfect family entertainment, is broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1 to end the school holidays in a good mood!
Released in theaters in 2021, All in scene 2 brings us back to Buster Moon and his troupe of stage beasts, who think even bigger with a completely crazy show. They have only one problem: persuading the most antisocial star the world has ever known to return to the stage with them.
Visually crazy, full of originality, ultra-rhythmic, as funny as it is tender, the hectic All in scene 2, which will put hundreds of notes in your head, is a total success. As for the casting, it looks great. In the original version, singer Pharrell Williams doubles the character of Alfonso, while Bono, the singer of U2, lends his voice to Clay Calloway, an old lion and true rock legend who has retired from the spotlight.
Music being at the center of the feature film’s narrative, particular care was obviously given to the original soundtrack. In addition to U2, it features tracks from artists such as Billie Eilish, Drake, The Weeknd, Prince, Taylor Swift, BTS, Cardi B, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
More than 2.7 million spectators in France
All the actors in the film perform their songs themselves, a major performance because not all of them are professional singers. The acoustic version of Stuck In a Moment performed by Scarlett Johansson was for example recorded in one take, without any additional arrangement.
