Every evening, before going to sleep, young Wendy tells her two brothers the stories of Peter Pan and Neverland. When her father tells her that she will soon have to grow up, she sadly resigns herself to spending her very last night in the children’s room. But while her parents go to a reception, she receives a most unexpected visit.
Peter Pan himself, accompanied by his faithful Tinkerbell, flies through the bedroom window, searching for his lost shadow. When he learns that Wendy is about to grow up, he invites her and her brothers to accompany him to Neverland. A world of dreams, of adventures, populated by Indians and mermaids, but also pirates, led by the terrible Captain Hook.
Released at the beginning of the 1950s, in the midst of a period of creative renewal for the Disney studios, Peter Pan tackles (like his big sister Alice) a monument of British literature: the eponymous play by JM Barrie .
No doubt because of its simple and careful animation, its iconic characters (Tinker Bell will quickly become one of the emblems of the Disney studios), its unforgettable songs (special mention to the wonderful You fly away) and its omnipresent humor, Peter Pan is often one of the Disney classics that fans of the studio discovered first.
A film on the theme of childhood, therefore, which has rocked millions, and which still resonates today as an essential work of animation.

- The character of Mr. Mouche, much more stupid than evil, and who is undeniably among the funniest characters ever created by Disney.

- Captain Hook. Even if, like his second, this famous villain is ridiculous and hilarious most of the time, he can sometimes be very scary when the context lends itself to it.
- Deemed offensive, the representation of certain characters in the film, particularly Indians, has sparked several controversies over recent years.
