Too high costs – forest on the Schober pass: Sonnberg lifts do not operate

Now the Sonnberg lifts are at a standstill: After an extensive inspection by the TÜV, 300,000 euros would have to be invested, according to the offer from the cable car manufacturer Doppelmayr, to get the ski area up and running again. “Nobody expected that!” Says Mario Leitner, operator and managing director, outraged. It is not only about safety-relevant deficiencies, but also about many small things that had not previously been complained about. Leitner: “Otherwise you would have reacted years ago!”
