The Swiss curlers led by Skip Silvana Tirinzoni started the World Championships in Sydney, Canada, with two convincing victories. They defeated South Korea 7:4 and the USA 10:3.

Carole Howald, Selina Witschonke, Tirinzoni and Alina Pätz dominated the game against the South Korean favorites from the start. Thanks, among other things, to three stolen stones, they gained a decisive lead (6:2) until after the 7th end.

7 written stones in 2 ends

Against the USA, the CC Aarau team fell behind 0:2 and 1:3, only to flex their muscles: after a four-man and a three-man house, it was suddenly 8:3 for the Swiss at halftime. After the 6th end, the Americans surrendered prematurely.

The four-time world champions from Switzerland have also extended their incredible record series of World Cup tournaments to 38 victories. The third game of the Round Robin follows for Tirinzoni and Co. on Sunday evening Swiss time (live from 11:00 p.m. in the uncommented SRF stream). The opponent is Estonia.
