Top Chef: what has become of David Gallienne since his victory?

Already the chef of a starred restaurant of which he became the owner, David Gallienne was able to exploit his victory at Top Chef in 2020 to diversify in his Norman town of Giverny.

His victory at Top chef in 2020 marked the broadcast of M6. Le Manceau David Gallienne has since enriched his career behind the stoves. The one who is also an amateur musician and took advantage of his Top Chef title to open a Youtube channel has come a long way. Witness the portrait dedicated to him by Liberation on March 28. At 33, the young man is already chef and owner of a prestigious hotel-restaurant, the feather garden, in Giverny (Normandy). The establishment he took over in January 2020 opened its doors in 1912 near Claude Monet’s house.

The restaurant created 100 years later, in 2012, by chef Eric Guérin has had a star since 2015 and has welcomed many personalities. In 2020, when he succeeds Eric Guérin, David Gallienne sees himself serving the Macron couple, on an official visit to the city of the impressionist painter. But far from being satisfied with this success, the young chef who experienced a painful coming out, has diversified. As Liberation reminds us, David Gallienne also owns a delicatessen in Vernon, in the Eure. In the sweet name of Plum Storethe shop opened in October 2021 offers local products, decorative items and takeaway dishes with Italian flavors.

O’Plum Art, David Gallienne’s guest house

In addition to this activity, which is in the vein of his food truck Picorette, launched in 2018, which sold gourmet dishes to take away, David Gallienne opened a guest house. Nestled in the house of the former milkman of Giverny, O’Plum Art exploits the 1900 architecture of the building in a warm and bucolic style. As Elle pointed out in February 2022, the chef opened a tea room in the heart of the establishment last April, which offers food from his menu. Those who would like to taste his cuisine now know where to go.
